Vita
Daniel Seiffert (b. 1980, East Berlin) is a freelance photographer and picture editor based in his hometown of Berlin. Born just a stone’s throw from the Berlin Wall, his life and work have been shaped by the cultural and political transformations of post-reunification Germany.
Before studying photography at the renowned Ostkreuz School of Photography, Seiffert earned a Master’s degree in Political Science, Media Studies, and African Studies from universities in Berlin, Potsdam, and Lisbon.
His work has received recognition through prestigious awards such as the C/O Talents Award, the Canon Award for Young Professional Photographers, and a nomination for the FOAM Paul Huf Award. His photographs have been exhibited internationally at venues including C/O Berlin, Paris Photo, PhotoEspaña, and PhotoMonth Minsk.
In 2015, he self-published his first artist book, Kraftwerk Jugend, which was shortlisted for the Dummy Award at the 5th International Photobook Award Kassel, and featured at Le Bal Paris and the Brighton Photo Biennial.
From 2017 to 2025, Seiffert was a member of the artist collective Apparat, further expanding his exploration of collaborative visual storytelling.
He lives in Berlin with his two daughters, balancing family life with a freelance career as a dedicated photographer and picture editor for a range of clients.
